This is a companion cache to GC5BE8G. Both are located on what is called the El Dorado Trail. Constructed before 1907, El Dorado Creek trail was a major route out of Fairbanks to the mining areas located to the north. If one wanted to travel to the abandon camp sites of Dome, Eldorado, Vault and Pedro Dome, you would most likely travel this route or its companion. The El Dorado Creek trail actually consists of two routes, one located east of El Dorado Creek and this one, which is west of El Dorado Creek. Park just off Old Murphy Dome Road where the pipeline crosses and walk down the pipeline to El Dorado.
