Geocache Description:

Driving, biking, hiking: this cache has it all!

The Galloping Goose is a great trail for helping to get avid geocachers deeper into the west Sooke Hills, an area abounding in geocaches.  But not so many caches this far north as the Victoria watershed is close by.  I think most people will get to this cache by driving to one of the Sooke River / Potholes parking lots, cycling to the old Leechtown town site and then walking the remainder of the way to the cache.  But with a bit of a lug a bike exercise, one could take the bike right to the cache as it is right on the edge of a deserted - but in pretty good shape - logging road.  On the way to this cache, you will pass a sister cache, Meat Pies.

Special note: there were copious amounts of quite fresh bear pooh on the approach to the cache the day I set it. BRING YOUR BEAR BELL or WHISTLE or do your best raucous rendition of "Teddy Bears' Picnic"!

Curious about the name?  Google Sweeney Todd.
