How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
A meeting of The Geocaching Tribe and a chance to make a difference and give something back..... you can stretch those legs around the public footpaths of Weekley Wood and collect some trash and give the place a good old tidy up....team up or wander alone its entirely up to you, the beautiful wood is full of trash that gets blown in from the nearby busy road and has been neglected for quite some time.
The event will run from 7am - 9am (attendance at anytime within that period is permitted) and give you a chance to blow the cobwebs out whilst doing some good, refuse sacks and a limited number of litter grabbers will be available from the published co-ords where you will be welcomed by a family member and representative from the Council..... The Council have kindly loaned the use of their litter pickers/grabs, however these must be returned at the end so please don't keep hold of them.
Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear and gloves and don't pick up anything that may be hazardous....pointy sticks can be useful or litter grabbers if you have one. A High Viz jacket is recommended but not essential.....finally don't forget to post an optional pic to brag about how much trash you bagged!
On completion please return your full refuse sacks and any large items to the posted co-ords so that Kettering Borough Council can collect them and dispose of them appropriately. The more we can leave the happier they will be, so please dont be tempted to take it to the tip yourself.
Many thanks to Northants County Council and Kettering Borough Council for their support in facilitating and supporting this event.
