This cache brings you to four oldest places of worships in Kuala Lumpur. Being a multicultural and multiconfessional country, majority of the population are Malays, followed by Chinese and Indians. Malays practices Islam while the Chinese population practices various faith including Buddhism and other Chinese traditional religion. Majority of Indians practices Hinduism. Christianity has established in some communities but not tied to a specific ethnic group. Other religions such as Baha'i and Sikhism also adherents in Malaysia.

STAGE 1: JAMEK MOSQUE
Jamek Mosque (or famously known as Masjid Jamek by the locals) is located at the convergence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. Its construction was supervised by a British engineer who previously served in India. This beautiful mosque resembles several mosque in Northern India. Built in 1909, this mosque is one of the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur. The mosque is open for visitation daily from 9.00am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 4.00pm, except for Fridays where it is closed for the whole day.

STAGE 2: SIN SZE SI YA TEMPLE
The Sin Sze Si Ya Temple (or known as Sze Ya Temple in some travel books) is the oldest Chinese temple in Kuala Lumpur. It was founded by Kapitan Yap Ah Loy in 1864. It is dedicated to the patron deities of Sin Sze Ya and Si Sze Ya. The deities has guided Kapitan Yap Ah Loy to defeat the enemies and defend Kuala Lumpur during the civil war (1870-1873). The temple witness the birth and growth of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

STAGE 3: SRI MAHAMARIAMMAN TEMPLE
The Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest and richest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur built in 1873. This elaborate Hindu temple is known as the starting point of the yearly Thaipusam pilgrimage to the Batu Caves, where Hindu devotees haul portable altars pierced to their skin with 108 lances. From its inception, the temple provided important place of worship for early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage.

STAGE 4: ST JOHN'S CATHEDRAL
The St John's Cathedral is the oldest Catholic church in Kuala Lumpur. It began in 1883 with the help of a towkay named Goh Ah Ngee, a Catholic miner who lived in Kajang. Back then, the first Catholic church was simply a long wooden hall with a few windows built in the forested area of Bukit Nanas. The foundation stone of a new church building of brick structure was laid on 28 March 1954. The church is open to public but will be full with muggles when the church services are running.
