Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates (Stage 1) will take you to a location inside the Assiniboine Park Zoo. There is an entrance fee. Figure out the next set of coordinates there. These calculated coordinates will take you outside of the zoo, but within the Park, to the final location. Check the Zoo website for hours.

Stage 1: Welcome to Churchill, Manitoba

At the posted coordinates, find "Miss Piggy". Lifting Miss Piggy will reveal a number. Use that number to calculate the North and West coordinates for the final location.

For North: To that number, add 361. The three digit answer will complete your North coordinate of 49 52.___

For West: To that number, add 692. The three digit answer will complete your West coordinate of 097 14. ___

The town of Churchill is a world-renowned tourist destination; famous for its polar bears and beluga whales.  It is an international birding hotspot,  having  a rich history with roots dating back before the Fur Trade. In 2011, the population of Churchill was 813 people. Churchill is located in northern Manitoba roughly 1700 kilometres  (that's over 1000 miles!) from Winnipeg, on the western shores of Hudson Bay. Churchill's unique location puts it within three ecoregions: the boreal forest to the south; the Arctic tundra to the northwest and the Hudson Bay to the north.

Wapusk National Park is located to the south of the town. Wapusk National Park protects one of the world's largest known polar bear denning areas in the world. Wapusk is the Cree word for "white bear".
