* * We Need Chili Cooks!! * *
Have you been told that your chili is the bomb? Do you want to prove to others that you are a great cook? The only way this event will be successful is if all of you take a chance and make a pot of chili for everyone else to judge! If you don't want to make chili but still want to bring something, please do so as extra things to eat and drink are always welcome.
The event page will be updated with a list of who's bringing what. All preparation needs to be done ahead of time and brought ot the event in a crock pot. Crock pot should be at least a 4 quart or bigger. All entries are per person, not just geoname!
The event location is the Smitty Sleuths' house. Weather permitting, it will be held outdoors in the driveway and on the deck. If there is inclement weather, we will move the festivities indoors. Either way, electricity is available. We live in a subdivision and have gotten permssion for cachers to park in front of our neighbor's houses. You may also park in our driveway (a few cars will fit) and along our front lawn.
What's provided: we will provide spoons, taste testing cups, and napkins. Each chef should bring a serving spoon for their chili, and an extension cord for their crockpot. We will have bottled water to drink - if you prefer pop, please bring some.
Schedule for Event
11-12 - Doors open. Come and socialize and warm up your chili.
12 - Introduction of chefs and their chili. An explanation of taste testing and voting will be at this time, too.
12:15 - The taste testing begins!
1:30 - Voting ends. All ballots must be submitted.
2:00 - Announcement of winners and presentation of awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Door prizes and raffle winners must be present to win.
3:00 - Clean up time.
Some new caches will also be released on the event day . . . so, keep an eye out for them!
