Welcome to the Lower Rogue River Kayak Series
A Series of 8 Geocaches placed along the scenic Lower Rogue River! The Rogue River is a natural treasure located right in Michigan's second largest metropolitan area. The river is full of great recreational opportunity from Fishing to Kayaking. The Rogue is designated a Country Scenic River under the Michigan Natural Rivers Act. The river is very popular with anglers especially during Steelhead & Salmon Season. The Upper Rogue River makes for a much calmer paddle. The Lower Rogue is faster, with more stretches of rapids and islands. On this paddle, be ready to encounter some rapids, especially at Childsdale. If you plan on completing all ten caches, be sure to plan on 2 to 3 hours on the river. Recommended launch sites are River Street in Rockford, and take out at the Plainfeild Launch on the Grand River.
Cache #8
This is the final stop in the series. Just after a cool bridge, at a scenic golf course. The cache is a preform tube on a riverside tree.
