Geocache Description:

Welcome to Buckland Monachorum, the village I grew up in and would like to show you the most trodden walk in my life which is 3-4 miles depending on the routes you take. It is made up of country lanes, fields and footpaths and you can check the link if you wish to read more about the history.

Please...
- Take care when walking around the village
- Show respect to the land and locals
- Control your dogs and clean up after them
- Remain aware that the lanes are narrow with poor vision
- Do not stray from public routes and keep off private land
- Don't litter
- Don't be too heavy handed searching for the caches

This corner has personal significance as my grandad (Grampy) made it to the local news in 1985 which involved this location. He was driving his land rover down the lane and noticed the flattened bank. He looked over to see a car half way down with a badly injured man inside. Thanks to him he was rescued and survived to tell the tale. If you'd like to watch the clip here it is... Unfortunately Grampy himself passed away only a couple years later.

After this cache, follow the road until you get to hairpin bend, which you need to walk up. This hairpin path also made the news a few years back when a murdered girl's body was found here, which you can also read more about here... This path will take you via the hairpin cache and then ontowards my next one.
