Welcome to Buckland Monachorum, the village I grew up in and would like to show you the most trodden walk in my life which is 3-4 miles depending on the routes you take. It is made up of country lanes, fields and footpaths and you can check the link if you wish to read more about the history.
Please...
- Take care when walking around the village
- Show respect to the land and locals
- Control your dogs and clean up after them
- Remain aware that the lanes are narrow with poor vision
- Do not stray from public routes and keep off private land
- Don't litter
- Don't be too heavy handed searching for the caches
Beyond this gate the public footpath continues to the Garden House, as featured on TV and visited by Alan Titchmarsh. This land is owned by a charitable trust but allows free public access through it if using the footpath and will take you through to the road. Alternatively you can double back on yourself towards the village.
