Montaña Jedey
You shall find the trail up to the Jedey on the right side of the parking, down 2 meters to the dirt road. Cross the dirt road, look out for the wooden pole with the electrical cable in direction west (seaward) only some meters away. The trail entrance, little overgrown, is directly on its left side. This is only a 10 minute hike up. Good shoes are recomended. The stones might be sharp and the pepples on the trail slippery.
During the outbreakt of the vulcano Tajuya 1585 (see Campanarios Paragliding multi) the lava stream flew around the hill Jedey and later down to the shore in Puerto Naos and Charco Verde.The outbrake of the Jedey vulcano itself was prehistoric (>500 years). The view from the Hill Jedey is breathtaking.
This vulcano is as many regions of the island in a natural protected area. Please do not leave anything behind and minimize your impact to the environment. Just enjoy being there.
There is a restaurant in Jedey and a gas station in San Nicolas.
Der Weg beginnt auf dem Pfad auf der rechten Seite des Parkplatzes zwei Meter runter auf die unbefestigte Strasse. Den Einstieg findet ihr, indem ihr den Holzmasten mit der Elektroleitung anpeilt. Der Mast befindet sich westlich nur ein paar Meter vom Parkplatz und der unbefestigten Strasse entfernt. Der Pfad ist etwas zugewachsen, führt aber direkt links am Holzmasten vorbei. Die Wanderung auf dem Pfad hoch dauert nur 10 Minuten. Gute Schuhe sind von Vorteil. Die Lavasteine sind zum teil scharfkantig und das Geröll auf dem Pfad kann rutschig sein.
Beim Ausbruch des Vulkans Tajuya 1585 (siehe: Campanarios Paragliding multi) umfloss die Lava den Hügel Jedey im Norden, als auch im Süden um dann bis zum Meer runter nach Puerto Naos und Charco Verde zu fliessen. Der Ausbruch des Jedey Vulkans selber war prähistorisch (>500 Jahre). Der Ausblick über die Vulkanlandschaft ist ausserordentlich schön.
Der Vulkan Jedey ist, wie viele Regionen der Insel eine Naturschutzzone. Bitte lassen Sie nichts zurück. Reduzieren Sie den Einfluss auf die Umwelt durch ihren Besuch auf ein Minimum. Geniessen Sie einfach dort zu sein.
