Geocache Description:

The Ulster Railway opened Armagh station in 1848, linking the city with Belfast. The Ulster Railway was extended from Armagh to Monaghan in 1858 and Clones in 1863.. The Government of Northern Ireland made the GNR Board close the lines serving Armagh on 1 October 1957: the goods branch from Armagh to Keady and the main line through Armagh from Portadown as far as the border at Glaslough on the way to Monaghan. There are still elements of the old railway line visible today.

This cache, the fourth and final in a series of four is on one of the structures, now a legacy of the old railway line. It is almost invisible as nature has overgrown the structure.  The cache is a test tube containing logbook and pencil. Parking is available in Alexander Park where a pathway used by walkers will bring you to the structure. There isn’t much natural light here so bring a torch.
