Punker of Rohrbach
The Punker is a legendary 15th Century figure from the German village of Rohrbach (now part of Heidelberg).
The Malleus Maleficarum (German: Hexenhammer), reports that around 1430, there was an extremely accurate archer named Punker who was rumoured to possess supernatural powers. He supposedly enabled the capture of a castle almost single-handedly with deadly shots from his bow. The castle was castrum Lendenbrunnen, which is presumed to be Lindelbrunn near Dahn. There is another legends about him in Malleus Maleficarum which are similar to those told about Swiss hero, William Tell. Alexander Schöppner incorporated this legend as The Bavarian Tell (Der bayerische Tell) in his collection Book of Legends of the Bavarian Land (Sagenbuch der Bayerischen Lande, 1852).
The street of Punkerstraße in Rohrbach and the district magazine der punker are named after him.

Punker von Rohrbach
Punker ist eine Sagengestalt des 15. Jahrhunderts aus Rohrbach (heute Stadtteil von Heidelberg).
Nach dem Hexenhammer (II,16) soll um 1430 ein außerordentlich treffsicherer Schütze mit Namen Punker gelebt haben, dem übernatürliche Kräfte nachgesagt wurden. Ihm wird nachgesagt, die Eroberung eines Schlosses (castrum Lendenbrunnen, vermutlich Lindelbrunn bei Dahn) fast alleine durch tödliche Pfeilschüsse ermöglicht zu haben. Auch eine der Schweizer Tell-Sage gleichende Sage wird im Hexenhammer von ihm erzählt. Alexander Schöppner nahm diese Sage als Der bayerische Tell in seine Sammlung Sagenbuch der Bayerischen Lande (1852) auf.
Nach Punker sind die Punkerstraße in Rohrbach und das Stadtteilmagazin der punker benannt.
