Geocache Description:


The 1st of October is Tokyo Citizen's Day. On this day in 1898, the State of Tokyo was established. We, the members of geocaching groups in Tokyo, celebrate this occasion by hiding this cache, along with many other caches, all over our city. Many city-run parks, museums, zoos, and other attractions will be free on this day.

Long time ago, current Ueno park area was owned by Kan-ei-ji temple. That's why so many temples are here. The cache is hidden outside of the temple. Bring your own pen.

1０月１日は東京都民の日です。東京の施政は１８９８年のこの日に始まりました。 東京のジオキャッシンググループは共同でこの日を祝いキャッシュを設置しました。 多くの都立の施設、公園、庭園、ホールの入場料は無料となります。

寛永寺は徳川家により新たに建立された天台宗関東総本山の寺院で子院はここを含め19院が広く存在しています。 あまり人が訪れることが無いこのあたりをgoogle mapで見るとなにしろびっしり子院があるのがわかりますね。 実は現在の上野公園のほぼ全域が寛永寺の境内だったことの名残です。 キャッシュは数ある子院のうちの吉祥院の外側に隠しました。
