From the road you will be able to see a massive split rock in the middle of the field. From the cache site look directly West to see this glacial erratic. These were left behind by melting/retreating glaciers during the last glaciation of Alberta, thousands of years ago. This particular erratic is, by our research, the second largest erratic in Alberta, after the famous Big Rock of Okotoks. It's quite a distance away from the cache, but that is deceptive, as this Airdrie erratic is quite large. (Check out the picture to see just how big.)
