The Begwns, now owned by the National Trust, is a popular place for locals to enjoy a walk. You have great vistas without the effort of climbing big mountains. The top here at 415m is called the Roundabout, and is a local landmark, being visible from many places. You have 2 options for your walk. To take the shorter walk, you will need to drive up the VERY narrow steep lane from Painscastle or Ffynnon Gynydd - hope you are good at reversing! An easier wider road is up from Clyro, or Painscastle with parking at the roadside near the cattle grid. This is a pleasant walk across the Bronze age landscape of about 2.7Km from here. There is absolutely no need to move or disturb any stones in the wall!!! Due to many mugglings we have had to relocate the cache and it is no longer near to the stone seat. After you have had a rest and admired the view, it's time to look north to the Radnor hills. Walk through to the stile, then follow the wall a little way to the right to find GZ (not IN the wall). Cache placed with the kind permission of the National Trust.
