Geocache Description:

Led by Henry Bagenal, the objective was to relieve the besieged garrison at Port Mór (Blackwatertown). Six regiments left Armagh on the 14th August, 1598, in a formation that was one mile long. A series of information panels along the route, from Armagh city to Blackwatertown, enable anyone to follow the route of the battle of the yellow ford and access the information at your pace.

1. The Church of Ireland Cathedral, Armagh city - where the English survivors retreated to and obtained refuge until Hugh O'Neill agreed to allow them safe passage back to Dublin. The information board tells the story. The cache is approx a 120mm tube, 15mm in diameter. You will need tweezers to access the logbook. It is well hidden out of the view of muggles. Take care replacing it. Parking is at the cache.
