Geocache Description:

This series challenges you with a number of tasks, not the least of which is to hike all the way from the Shoreline (aka Burrard Inlet) to the Skyline, which in this case is the top of Skyline Trail in North Vancouver. Traversing a total distance of 8 kilometres, you will face an elevation gain of about 880 metres. The wise cacher will split this adventure into manageable sections. The rest of you should carry plenty of food and water.

Along the way, you will discover a few caches that contain clues you need to collect, others that are not what they seem to be, and a couple that we hope will make you smile.

This section of Mosquito Creek Trail above Montroyal Blvd in not maintained by either the Cty or District of North Vanouver, therefore it is not suitable for biking. The surface is mostly loose gravel and the trail is very narrow in places so cyclists are advised not to use this trail.

IMPORTANT NOTE! THIS CACHE CONTAINS A CLUE YOU WILL NEED TO RECORD IN ORDER TO OPEN THE CONTAINER AT SHORELINE TO SKYLINE – TANGO. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE CLUE FROM THIS CACHE.

Romeo. Most of us are familiar with Shakespeare quotation, "Romeo, Romeo... Wherefore art thou Romeo?"  It is one of the most misunderstood phrases in English literature. When Juliet asks "Wherefore...", she is not wondering "Where are you located", but rather "Why did fate make you a Montague and the sworn enemy of my father so that we may not be together?"

In the case of this cache, Romeo exists because we decided to label our series using the phonetic alphabet. This is the 18th cache in the series and "R" is the 18th letter of the alphabet. Now hasten thee to thy search. Beware the false concealments and rest wary of footsteps of approaching muggle-folk, lest thee be discovr'd with thine garmin expos'd!

We hope you enjoy this series. Remember to cache safely by always being aware of your surroundings, and please put the cache back as you found it.

Please note: we do not encourage you to try hiking directly to Sierra from here. There are a couple of trails that will get you there, but the terrain rating is easily 4 stars for either route, so proceed at your own risk, preferably with decent footwear and a hiking stick or poles.
