Romania's first cache!! Drive to within 200 meters, but those last 200 meters are not for smokers.
Located near Bran Castle, legendary lair of Vlad Tepes, otherwise known as Dracula. Excellent views of the Carpathian Mountains and Romanian countryside can also be seen. This cache consists mainly of toys and games, but also includes a few essential vampire deterrents, including a mirror, a Croatian pre-paid phone card with a photo of the Pope on it, and a large pencil that could be used as a wooden stake in an emergency. The cache container is a rectangular plastic tupperware-like thing with a green lid. Access information: - best way: from the castle's courtyard N 45° 30.890 E 25° 22.050, follow the path uphill. Visiting fee required, accessible only during the castle's opening hours. Recommended for those who also want to visit the castle. Estimated hiking time: 10 minutes. - 2nd best way: go to N 45° 30.860 E 25° 22.400, follow Festung street until you reach the ridge, walk on the ridge to the cache location. The road passes next to unfenced properties and barking dogs, not recommended during the night. Estimated hiking time: 30 minutes. - mad way: go to N 45° 30.740 E 25° 21.920, walk along the riverbed until you find a suitable trail going uphill, then walk on the ridge to the cache location. Difficult climbing. Accessible 24/7. Estimated hiking time: 40 minutes
