This cache is hidden close to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain in the Big Bear Lake area of Southern California. Sugarloaf Peak is at 9,954. It is not an easy hike and is often underestimated.
Just south of Mitchell lane off Highway 38 is a fire road. Do not remember the designation at the moment and too lazy to go back out to the truck to get it. Park at the trail head and follow the signs for Sugar Loaf trail. 10 miles+ round trip with at least a 2,300 ft elevation gain. There is an easier way that cuts out about 1,000 ft but I'll leave it for others to figure out the shortcuts if they want an easy way up.
