Geocache Description:

Welcome to an International Earthcache Day event. Meet an Earthcache reviewer. Lets talk about Earthcaches. Lets talk about what Earthcaching activities are available at this time. 

Each year we celebrate International EarthCache Day on the first Sunday of Earth Science Week and the last day of World Space Week. In 2014 that day is Sunday 12 October.  To help us celebrate we ask people to attend an event and tell others about how much fun visiting and developing EarthCaches can be. We are all about helping fellow EarthCachers enjoy the great outdoors.  Each person who logs a “Found it” for an EarthCache on Sunday 12 October 2014, receives a new digital souvenir for their Geocaching profile.  Explore exciting and educational earthscience experiences which often reveals hidden clues about the earth's formation.  Instead of finding a container at an EarthCache, geocachers learn and report their geological learning.  There are now more than 14,000 active EarthCaches around the globe.
 
1. An event will be held at the listed coordinates between 9am and 9.15am
2. It is an event for the purpose of a geocaching social gathering.
3. Any additional activities you choose to do are done outside of the event times are optional and are not required to claim an attendance for the event. Cachers can attend the event at anytime during the listed times at the listed co-ordinates and claim the find.
4. The event does not include finding a geocache or earthcache.
 
The following is for information only. There is an optional activity after the event. It is a walk to Mt Lofty from the Waterfall Gully carpark. Come along and have some fun.
