Huntington Ingalls - Newport News Shipbuilding and the City of Newport News have collaborated on a walking trail in downtown Newport News to enable employees and the public to have a route for outdoor exercise. The trail takes the walkers through downtown Newport News to the Victory Arch and around the Virginia Advanced Shipbuilding and Carrier Integration Center (VASCIC). As I walked past these signposts, I felt that this was screaming for a cache series in this sparsely cache populated area. Due to geocache personal space limitations, not every 0.1 mile spaced sign will have an associated cache container, but I did what I could.

This magnetic nano cache is located very close to the starting point of the trail. The container is not hard to find, but I made the difficulty level a 2.5 due to muggle possibilities since this is located in front of City Hall.
While here, take a look at the nearby Police and Firefighters Memorial. Also, the MP 0.0 sign is not far to the east and where Washington Ave. meets 25th Ave.
