Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Wear your hiking shoes, bring drinking water, and don't forget to bring your camera along for a beautiful view of the Illinois River Valley.
Include a visit to historic Tahlequah while hunting for this cache on SparrowHawk Mountain. To get to the trailhead, follow Hwy. 62/51 east out of Tahlequah. Turn North onto scenic Hwy. 10 (which follows the Illinois River), and continue about 2-3 miles past Echota Bend Public Access and up the mountain to the SparrowHawk Village Road. Turn East onto SparrowHawk Village Rd. and continue .25 mile to the SparrowHawk Primitive Area trailhead and parking area. Follow the Westernmost trail (furthest left) up the mountain and let your GPS unit do the rest. The distance on foot is about 1.0 mile, but pace yourself on the first 400 yards, as it is a bit steep. Once you find the cache, a second set of coordinates will guide you to a breathtaking view of the Illinois River Valley. But be VERY CAREFUL, as the descent to the bluff is quite perilous.
The cache is in a clear tupperware container, and the original contents include:
3 Small Stuffed Animals
3 Packages of New Writing Pins
5 2000 Tulsa County Fair Lapel Pins
