Kobeelya Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am archiving this cache due to the unfortunate lack of action taken to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, josstaylor, requesting additional time.

Despite ample opportunities provided for the Cache Owner to respond, their silence leads me to the conclusion that the cache has been abandoned.

In such cases, archived caches will not be unarchived, and as a result, this location is now open for the placement of a new cache by another interested party.

Thanks,

Balayang

Geocache Description:

Bring pen and maybe tweezers, careful of muggles before and after school

Amidst the undulating farming land of the Great Southern region of Western Australia, overlooking the town of Katanning is Kobeelya. Occupying six hectares of parkland Kobeelya offers a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere away from the pressures of urban living. Situated 275 kilometres S.E. of Perth this picturesque setting is within easy walking distance of the centre of town. Originally built in 1902 as the home for the family of the founding father of Katanning, Mr F.H. Piesse, the house itself was considered extravagant in its time with all internal fittings and furniture being purchased overseas. For the sixty years following Mr Piesse's death, Kobeelya was used as a girls' boarding school, originally by the Church of England and later by the Uniting Church. With the closing of the school in 1986, the Katanning Baptist Church purchased the property.
