Every time I see the Cameron Ranch property in late summer I feel as though I've been transported to Africa. The grass has browned up and I can almost see a lioness stalking a zebra. A trail with boardwalks was put in here a few years ago and allows folks to walk on a portion of a property which is normally closed to the public because of the cattle (and lions).
This summer, the Cameron Ranch property became part of the new Carden Alvar Provincial Park. It is designated as a natural environment Provincial Park which means that it will not be open for camping or any other public use.
Because of the new Provincial Park status, this cache is across the road. Use the Cameron Ranch parking lot, maybe take a walk along the trail and then cross the road carefully and locate this cache. The likely location for the cache was surrounded by poison ivy so an alternate location was selected. There is poison ivy all along here but GZ is clear and, if you take the right route in, you will not encounter any.
