The Mississippi River * One of my favorite places all along its journey through Minnesota and beyond.
This area along the River holds strong memories of when this entire neighborhood was under water in 1962.
It was not the Floods or Tornadoes of 63' 64' 65' but a man-made flood when 'they' opened the Coon Rapids Dam full force. The Fire department freshwater flooded most of the home's basements, but sadly; My auntie's and a couple of other homes were lost because they ran out of time.
