Geocache Description:

2014 is our FIRST year of geocaching, this is our FIRST cache.  WE have created it in memory of our FIRST born child, our eldest son "Outer Space Captain Isaak"

He graced us with his presence in our lives on this earth for 10 yr 3 days 2 hrs (Aug 2001- Aug 2011) At 6 months old Isaak was diagnosed an extremely rare form of epilepsy called Malignant MIgrating Partial Epilespy/Seizures in Infancy (MMPEI - MMPSI). This condition means the brain is having seizures almost continuously that are resistant to antiepileptic medications.  With this the brain is unable to develop any skills and often results in severe brain matter loss.  Isaak remained developmentally in a 'baby like' state while his body continued to grow.  To date there have been less than 100 children diagnosed with this condition worldwide since it was first given it's name in the 1990's.  MMPEI is almost always fatal during childhood years.  At the time of passing Isaak was one of only 3 children in the world who had managed to live past 10 yrs of age. In New Zealand there have now been 2 other children diagnosed with this condition. One being Isaak's younger brother who was diagnosed in mid 2009 and a little girl who was diagnosed in late 2012. While science is making huge advances in their knowledge and understanding about genetics, to date the majority of families (including ours) with this condition have NO significant or specific gene defects or genetic basis found.

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a mystery but TODAY is a GIFT that is why they call it the PRESENT.

...

We always knew the length of Isaak life would be an unknown but he taught us to appreciate today and that small things in life (that are often overlooked) at times become the most important. We saw our "Glass as half full not half empty" and appreciated what we had and tried not to dwell on what was missing.

Cache description:  PLEASE reset and replace exactly as found .

Cache has been hidden in a peaceful place with plenty of opportunity for you to 'sit' and take a break from daily life providing you with 'natural' cover or disguise from possible mugglers while you undertake the necessary task of signing the official log.  This place can also be very busy at times but finding a 'quiet spot' shouldn't be a problem.  When placing this cache we spent some time exploring the entire surroundings and were very quickly awed by the creativity and individualism that now exists in places like this. During our walk around we found ourselves reflecting on how precious life really is, how we often take 'living, being alive' for granted. It also reminded us how quickly things in life can change without notice or warning. > >

Logs: Official log must be signed to claim your find - Please no spolier logs in relation to the cache itself.

When writing your log if you choose to we would like to hear about your thoughts on the grounds within which the cache has been hidden or if you paid particular attention to a specific aspect/place.  Alternatively leave a message to a loved one or a "life quote" for others to read

A moment can last but a second but the memory can live on forever - we hope this cache creates a memory or moment to remember in your caching journey - Life is about the journey not the destination.
