The 1st of October is Tokyo Citizen’s Day. On this day in 1898, the State of Tokyo was established. We, the members of geocaching groups in Tokyo, celebrate this occasion by hiding this cache, along with many other caches, all over our city. Many city-run parks, museums, zoos, and other attractions will be free on this day.
10月1日は東京都民の日です。東京の施政は1898年のこの日に始まりました。
東京のジオキャッシンググループは共同でこの日を祝いキャッシュを設置しました。多くの都立の施設、公園、庭園、ホールの入場料は無料となります。
*** Arakawa CR R series ***
This series of caches are hidden along the right bank of Arakawa Cycling Road.
This is not a "power trail" though distance between neighboring caches are short and D/T ratings are relatively lower.
Some may be "park & grab"s but there are also caches which needs some climbing, under going or going through bushes.
At the time of this writing, north most cache is near Horikiri, Adachi-ku.
There are no plan of further extension so far.
If you are interested in extending this series please contact me and let's plan together.
Caution
- There are many serious cyclist on the CR. Pull completely off the road when you search caches.
- Though many bikes are running very fast, you have to keep low speed enough to stop immediately (approx 20km/h or lower). Always yield to pedestrian traffic.
- There are restrooms and drinking fountains periodically along the CR. There's few vending machine of drinks, there's no food selling shops. Please make sure you have them with you before start caching.
*** Arakawa CR Rシリーズ ***
キャッシュを荒川右岸の河川敷道路、通称「荒川サイクリングロード」沿いに設置しました。
短い間隔で、難易度/地形ともに比較的低めのキャッシュが続いていますが、いわゆるpower trailではありません。
park & grabなキャッシュもありますが、登ったりくぐったり藪の中を探しに行くキャッシュもあります。
現在のところ、足立区堀切付近まで設置済みですが、さらに北側に延伸するかどうかは未定です。
一緒にシリーズを拡張することに興味がある方はオーナーまでご連絡をお願いします。
注意
・本気のサイクリスト達が多く走っています。キャッシュを探す際は、通行の邪魔にならないところに自転車を停めてください。
・多くの自転車は高速で走行していますが、「荒川下流河川敷利用ルール」において「自転車はいつでも止まれるスピードで走行すること（目安として時速20km以下）」と定められています。近くに歩行者がいる時は徐行し、歩行者を優先してください。
・サイクリングロード沿いには、適当な間隔でトイレや水飲み場がありますが、自動販売機や食料を買える場所はサイクリングロードから外れて一般道に出ないとありません。必要な飲み物や食料は持参するようにしてください。
