Geocache Description:

An addition to the popular Church Micro series at the hamlet of Llanwenarth Citra just to the west of Abergavenny, South Wales.

The Church

The church is dedicated to St. Peter and, as mentioned, is situated in the parish of Llanwenarth Citra a mile or two from Abergavenny towards Crickhowell, with a great view of Blorenge.

Consisting of a nave, chancel, western crenulated tower and south porch this building, in the gothic style, was originally built in the 13th century and has undergone several changes over the years including the tower which was added in about the 14th century. What appears to be original is the nave and chancel and the ogival-headed priest's doorway. The porch is a much later addition.

The Cache

A small-sized container close to (but not inside) the church grounds which has been placed with kind agreement from the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. I have placed this as an easy cache and dash but a wander round the church is a pleasant ten minutes if you have time.
