Park your car and take a walk down the nature trail. The container is off the trail a little ways. You're looking for a lock N' lock green geocache container! Enjoy the beautiful nature and park while you are here! Here is a little history on the park! In 1926, when George Beck of Ithaca learned that one of the last stands of white pine in Gratiot County was going to be destroyed, he called on local lumberjacks and riverman to buy the threatened 40acre lot and turn it into a memorial. The woodsman organized the Lumberjack and Riverdrivers association and in 1927 bought the land for 3,000$. On October 18, 1934 the assocations explained. "We shanty boys are getting old and our ranks are getting thinner year by year, but when are days are ended we know are children's children still can gather on this spot where the shanty boys built their final camp!" The bunk house and cook shanty were built in 1930, the pavilion by 1931, and the care tackers house in 1947. The park also features a band shell, playground area, and nature trail.
