[FIN] Ruopsanjoki saa alkunsa Kemijärven luoteispuolelta ja risteää Kemijärven ja Rovaniemen välisen maantien ja rautatien kanssa. Joki laskee Pienen Ruopsanjärven, Ruopsanjärven ja Jokilammen kautta Kemijärven Juntinlahteen Ruopsan kylän pohjoispuolella.
Ruopsanjokea on käytetty uittoon ja sillalta alajuoksulle päin on sijainnut mylly. Jokea on kunnostettu uiton jäljiltä. Joen kalalajeihin kuuluvat mm. taimen, harjus, ahven, hauki ja särkikalat. Melonta on mahdollista veden ollessa korkealla.
Merkityt parkkipaikat ovat kalastajien, metsästäjien ja marjastajien kesäaikaan käyttämiä levikkeitä, talvella niitä ei aukaista. Tie on kapeahko ja kätkön kohdalla näkyvyys voi olla huono, joten liikenneturvallisuuden takia TIELLE PYSÄHTYMINEN AUTOLLA ON KIELLETTYÄ. Mikäli ajaa posotat kätköstä ohi, löytyy alle kilometrin säteellä kätköstä tienhaara kääntymistä tai parkkeeraamista varten.
[ENG] Ruopsanjoki river begins in the north west side of Kemijärvi and crosses the road and railway connecting Kemijärvi and Rovaniemi. It runs through small lakes to lake Kemijärvi on the north side of Ruopsa village.
The river has been used for log floating and there has been a mill downstream from the bridge. After the log floating, the river has been restored. The fish species in the river include trout, grayling, perch, pike and cyprinids. Canoeing is possible when the water is high.
The marked parking areas are used by local people when going fishing, hunting or picking berries in the summer time. They are not official car parks and are not available in the winter. The road is pretty narrow and visibility is poor at the cache, so IT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN TO STOP YOUR CAR ON THE ROAD. If you accidentally pass the parking areas, there are side roads less than 1 km distance from the cache where you can turn or park your car.
