This cache is located at the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge visitor center and office. Our visitor center offers seasonal guided hikes and educational opportunities for schools and the community. If you visit this cache Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., you can go in and take a look around, meet a staff member or volunteer, and ask lots of questions. If you visit the cache at other times you can still grab a brochure and check out one of our amazing trails which are open year-round sunrise to sunset.
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge encompasses some of Alabama's last remaining undisturbed coastal barrier habitat. The refuge's goal is to protect and preserve these unique habitats and associated wildlife for generations to come. The refuge protects the well-being of native plants and animals, serves as a living laboratory for students and scientists, and provides wildlife-oriented public recreation.
Note: This Geocache is placed by the USFWS. Please practice Cache In Trash Out during your visit. We encourage you to bring a trash bag along with you on your visit and pick up any trash you may see along the way. Even this small act can make a huge difference!
Please keep the following in mind as you search for our caches:
- Please stay on the trails as you cache, you will not need to enter any closed areas during your search.
- Please do not disturb, damage, or remove any plants or wildlife. Staying on posted trails should help you to avoid disrupting our preserved natural habitat.
- The Refuge is open from sunrise to sunset. Night caching is not allowed.
- No pets are allowed on the Refuge trails or beaches.
