This natural feature created by wave action over many eons was populated by native crabapples. It was identified and named in 1859 by the original royal engineer responsible for surveying Richmond and once stretched from Terra Nova to Garry Point. Over the past 100 years, this ridge gradually disappeared under the ever expanding city and in 2007 was recreated using soil from the slough construction located to the NW of this cache.
