Upon leaving for a family trip to Hawaii, Penn & Quinn entrusted their beloved Border Collie, Checkers with Uncle Matt for a week. From the moment he moved in, Checkers began plotting his escape. One day, as Uncle Matt stepped out to run some errands, Checkers seized the moment and made a break for it. This cache marks (approximates) the spot where Checkers leapt to freedom from the balcony above. Very shortly thereafter Checkers landed in the hospital with a broken leg... Update 4/8/2022: After a long happy life Checkers has made his way over the rainbow bridge. RIP Checkers. You were a very good boy.
