This cache is in the vicinity of the B24 that crashed in November of 1944, as shown on the 1960 Warden's map. Nine crew men were killed. There is no longer any wreckage at this location. I was told by a local resident that he recalled seeing the wreckage across the road from where it was shown on the Warden's map, but it is conceivable that the debris field was on both sides of the road.
One news article on the crash lists the site as at the base of Middle Mountain in the Pawtuckaway range, and another states that the crash was near Round Pond.
