In area to do maintenance on a nearby cache and do some fishing at Geary State Lake this evening. Noticed that the cache that used to be at this location has been archived for whatever reason, so decided to place a new cache here.
This is Lyona Cemetery, in Dickinson County, just across the county line with Geary County. Lyona Church is across the street.
To get to this cemetery, probably the easiest route would be to travel north/south on US Hwy 77, and turn west at its intersection with KS Hwy 157. Follow KS Hwy 157 west towards the 4-H Grounds. When you reach a sharp turn to the south, continue west onto the connector road to where it intersects with W Lyons Creek Road - there will be a stone bridge (and a geocache) near there. IF you miss the turn & follow KS Hwy 157, it will lead you to the 4-H grounds.
Another route to this cemetery would be to travel north/south on US Hwy 77 until you reach its intersection with Lyons Creek Road. Turn west onto W Lyons Creek Road and just follow it until you eventually reach the cemetery.
Anyway, turn west onto W Lyons Creek Road and follow it to the county line. Once across the county line, this road becomes Wolf Road. Cemetery is roughly 1/2 mile or so south of the intersection of Wolf Road and 1900 Road. Cemetery will be on the west side of Wolf Road. Been a while since I have been out this way - was just a bit "confused" as to my bearings - was more interested in fishing.
Cache container that you will be searching for is something camoed with that new green digital duct tape and has a brown cap.
Depending on where you park, short hike to GZ, nothing to brag about - or is there!?!?!?!
