Geocache Description:

This cache is to honor the two persons that the Woodhaven Deaf Baptist Deaf Church's, pastor, Arthur Craig had cherished and that it is in his church's property. Please be respectful during thier services on Sundays and Wednesday evenings.

Barbara Craig, was the wife of Arthur Craig, Pastor at Woodhaven Baptist Deaf Church. Both Arthur and Barbara Craig have been involved with the deaf community with their ministry for more than 30 years. In August 2013, Arthur have lost his wife Barbara to breast cancer. Barbara had been fighting breast cancer for awhile through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Her cancer had been treated for a while, however the cancer had been relapsed which leaded to her untimely death, and this is what made it difficult for the family and the community. ====================================================================== Brian Craig, was the son of Barbara and Arthur Craig. Brian Craig, 27, joined the Army in 1993, weeks after his graduation from Klein Forest High School. Brian was an Staff Sargent in the Army during the Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (Kandahar). On April 15, 2002, Brian was killed along with 3 other U.S. Soldiers dismantling confiscated rockets (Explosive Ordnance Disposal). "Rather than using weapons of destruction, he was over there cleaning up the munitions left by past and present war. By doing that we are certain he saved the lives of many people - men, women and children. He laid down his life not only for his friends, but for people he didn't even know, the Afghan people," said his father Arthur Craig. Brian Craig was laid to rest in Arlington Cemetery along with the other 3 U.S. Soldiers killed with him.
