Settlement history
European settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, although population was minimal until the early 1900s. Growth occurred during the 1920s and 1930s as land was subdivided. Rapid development took place from the 1960s into the 1980s. The population increased gradually between 1996 and 2013 as new dwellings were added to the area.
