One of our favorite things, is visiting old Lookout tower sites. It's even better while vacationing at the beach with dear friends 
After a pleasant stroll to Drift Creek falls, we felt the need to play in the woods just a little more. We thought there would be a locked gate approximately a half of a mile or so from the top but as we neared it, we could see that it's probably never locked so we drove on up. The four of us scoured the area in search of relics from the past. What we found were several footings littered amonst the overgrowth as well as the stairs that once led into the cabin. The day was beautiful and we soaked up every minute of it. We hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.
