Geocache Description:

This gravel road (45E) off of highway 287 crosses Dale Creek and passes a few residences, then reconnects to the highway about a mile north.  Providing a nice view all around, it's good to stop and take a look around.  Most folks just zoom by.  The cache is hidden in the large silver guardian at the turnoff.

I can't count how many times I've driven by this spot since I've been geocaching and pondered placing a cache here.  To the Southeast is Virginia Dale, and a marker for the stage stop between Wyoming and Colorado.  Down the road further is the Virginia Dale church.  But here, the grass is green, the water clear, and the air is fresh.  Even when it's cold, this is still one of the prettiest spots on hwy 287. Please turn onto the gravel road and park near the cache or just down the gravel road for larger vehicles. Watch your children and pets as the highway can be very busy at times.
This should be an easy P&G. Park off the highway on the gravel road and it's only a short walk to the cache. Could be a challenge to find after heavy snowfall and drifting, or if the snow plows have been out.
