Geocache Description:

From this spot you can see the Black River that runs through most of Lorain County. There is also a great view of the Charles Berry Bascule Bridge, named in honor of Lorain native Charles J. Berry, a Marine who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the battle of Iwo Jima. It is the second largest bascule bridge in the world and was built it the late 1930’s.

The cache is placed with permission.

Scenic boat tours down the black river and to the Lorain Lighthouse depart from the Black River Landing area. It is the site of many festivals and concerts. The original lens from the lighthouse is on display at the port authority building.
