江戸川水閘門は、江戸川と旧江戸川区切る水門と閘門である。
川を挟んで西が篠崎地区、東が河原地区となっているが、水門付近は境界が設定されていないため、この水門がどちらの地区にあるのかは不定である。
地元では、篠崎の水門など、地名を付けて呼ばれることが多い。
この水閘門の役目は、東にある行徳稼働堰と連携して江戸川の水位を保ちつつ、船舶の航行が可能とすることである。
そのため、旧江戸川を中心に見たときの東側に水門、西側に閘門(ロックゲート)が設けられている。
また、水門の上は歩行者、軽車両が通行可能であるため、橋としての機能も持ち合わせている。自動車は通行不可である。
近くの川岸には桜並木があるため、桜の時期の訪問もおすすめである。
キャッシュはそのような見どころ満載な水門付近に設置した｡

Since the nearby river bank has a row of cherry blossom trees, I recommend visiting when the cherry blossoms are in season.
