Use stealth. Seems like a simple concept to a geocacher - don't get caught. Through the eyes of the junior cacher, though, this is a challenge and an opportunity for adventure! Enter the URBAN NINJA! Waiting for just the right moment, the ninja clings to the handle of the sliding door on the minivan. Coast is clear... 3..2..1.. GO GO GO! The ninja springs into action, frisking the no-parking sign or lifting the cowl of the light post. In the blink of an eye the cache is in that little hand and whisper-silent sketchers have rushed the ninja back into the vehicle. Phase 1 accomplished! Traffic picked up? Shoppers came pouring out of the big box store? No problem, dad will drive around the block once or twice until GZ clears out again and the ninja's eyes glisten as his treasure is turned over and over in those little ninja hands. The life of an urban ninja is one of stealth and patience. And snickering and waving pretend swords, but I digress. With the all-clear called, the ninja springs into action one more time and replaces the goods same as, or better than, before. This time the cache lands in place and our ninja casually strolls, hands in pockets, whistling to the birds, back to the vehicle. The job is done, and to any muggle, he's just another kid. This concept is what got 2 of my juniors into caching. We still love the rush of slipping in and out of parking lots for these hides. Next time you do it, watch all the unsuspecting muggles go by. Imagine how many times that treasure has been passed by, unsuspected, beyond the pale of so many... then go get it, ninja, and stay stealthy my caching friend!
