One in a series of caches placed for Florida Finders Fest X’s 14 mile off-road Trail of Treasure. Hearty souls completing the trek will plunder pirate-themed caches that cover the alphabet. No need to frown when collecting custom pin striping courtesy of the forest, you’ll also be gathering smiles from A through Z!
Stink pot – A grenade-like weapon that makes an awful stink which is lobbed aboard an enemy ship to sicken and disorient their crew before boarding. They were made by filling small clay pots with burning sulfur (and sometimes plant gums and rotten fish!). A crude form of tear gas, it was hoped the smoke and fumes would overwhelm the victims’ desire to fight (or maybe they would vomit themselves into submission).
