The Fort Montgomery Geocache version 2.0 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

RebeccaPolewczak: [V] Sorry to say, it appears border patrol/customs has taken over the area. There was a giant orange barrier complete with do not enter sign, something about penalties for crossing the barrier anyway, and a bunch of vehicles. At this time it seems like my only option is to shut this cache down for good, since it was after the barricade and there isn't really much of anywhere to put one before it. Thank you to everyone who has visited over the years and sorry to the last few cachers who came looking but didn't find it. Hopefully there will be a Fort Montgomery cache #3 in the future, but for now I can't replant this one.

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed on May 21, 2004 to replace the original cache in this area, hence, version 2.0. This cache is virtually located in the furthest northeast point of New York State. Being roadside, basically anyone can access it.

To find this cache you will need to begin on the small access road and head toward the water. It is located at an historical site.

It's a good cache to hit if you're driving through town on the way to or from Vermont, easily accessible from the road - you can drive to within sight of the cache location. Once you get there you'll have to deal with a very short but very rocky trail.

Container changed to an ammo can on 14 Oct 07, with all new toys and goodies.
