The game is over for many rural tennis clubs in Australia. Saturday tennis matches were such a big part of rural communities as can be seen by the number of tennis courts scattered around the countryside. Many have now gone into recess but some are still thriving clubs. This series is dedicated to those that have declared "game over".
Dingwall tennis club was my local tennis club for several years. The beauty of these teams was that families could all play together regardless of ability. Because families were involved there was generally quite a gathering of children playing court side. A cubby house was part of the scenery here but is rather delapidated now. A grant was received by the club to install in-ground sprinklers on the courts which was rather a luxury for country clubs. The cache you are looking for should be an easy find, please byo pen. As is always the case in rural Australia, keep an eye out for snakes in the warmer months.
