N012 Motivo de la Singularidad Se trata de un ciprés de Monterrey de grandes dimensiones, con una bonita conformación de copa a pesar de haber tenido que ser podado en algunas de sus ramas debido a una afección que le provoca la seca de las mismas. Esta enfermedad provocó la muerte de otro ciprés de carácter singular, con un tronco de 1,20 cm de diámetro y 10 m de altura que crecía junto a este ejemplar. Se encuentra en la Urbanización Sitio de Calahonda, en el cruce entre la Avenida de España y la Avenida del Cortijo. Se ubica en una isleta ajardinada, junto a varios cipreses de Arizona (Cupressus arizonica) Why the tree is so unique This is a very large Monterey cypress with a nice cup shape, despite having had to be pruned due to an infection, that causes the branches to dry out. This disease caused the death of another singular cypress that was beside this tree, which had a trunk of 1.20 cm in diameter and 10 meters in height. The tree is situated in the Sitio de Calahonda urbanization, at the crossroads of Avenida de España and Avenida del Cortijo. Su ubicación, aislado de otros pinos, le da cierto carácter solemne en una zona de la urbanización de gran tránsito como es El Campanario, uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Sitio de Calahonda. Se localiza en la confluencia de la Av. De España con Av. Del Cortijo. En la zona ajardinada de enfrente podemos encontrar un bonito Ciprés de Monterrey, catalogado también como Árbol Singular. Why the tree is so unique Since this Carrasco or Aleppo Pine is in an area surrounded by Stone Pines, and even though its not the highest tree in the area, it stands out due to its majestic image. it has a dense and well formed crown and a substantial trunk. its location, isolated from other pines, gives the tree a solemn character, especially in the busy residential area of El Campanario, one of the most emblematic places of Sitio de Calahonda. it is located at the crossroad of Avenida España with the Avenida del Cortijo. In a garden just in front, we can find another singular listed tree: the Monterey Cypress.
