Your journey will take you from a hard packed parking lot to the murky cold bottom of Pelham Lake itself. The trail system around the lake is a well-defined trail that goes from smooth hard pack to very rough roots, mud and slippery rocks. Hike takes about an hour without caching so plan accordingly. Bring a caching buddy please do not try alone and remember it is all for fun. Only cache within your limits, your safety comes before a smile. This is not a power run or a numbers trail. We had a great time hiding and making these caches with Park Ranger Loomis, it took us almost a year just to get them right. Some are very hard to find, but then again they are 5’s after all. Please post all DNF’s and how you feel about the caches. Ranger Loomis is looking forward to reading them. If you see him please tell him thanks for the great trails and fun!
To get started you will need to find the hidden chirp beacon and download the location of the posted coords. The chirp is hidden at a 1 terrain and has the 5 difficulty-1 terrain cache coords in it. To download the chirp info you will need a chirp enabled GPSr. Remember to turn chirp search on. The rest of the coords can be found at the posted location. Good Luck, have fun, and always be safe!
