Geocache Description:

Located close by Lough Salt, Donegal's deepest freshwater lough, between Kilmacrennan and Carrigart.

Lough Salt Mountain from the cache site

Located close to the Lough Salt viewpoint with great views towards Muckish, Creeslough and Carrigart on a clear day. Lough Salt Mountain towers over the deep and moody narrow lough and provides a fantastic viewpoint for the fit and adventurous.

Getting There

Follow the N56 North from Letterkenny and follow the sign posts at N55° 02.151 W007° 47.022 to approach along the back-road from Kilmacrennan to Carrigart. The road is narrow and twisty so care is required. If you miss the turn there is another approach from N55° 03.131 W007° 49.259. Park at the rough car park at N55° 04.919 W007° 48.629 and cross the grassy hummocks or approach via the road and a bog-track.

The Cache

A medium sized ammo box painted black with geocaching stickers on the exterior. Although the hiding spot is difficult to discover accidentally please take care to ensure that the box is completely covered before leaving.

PLEASE ONLY TRADE UP OR EVEN.

TBs MOVE BETWEEN CACHES AND REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE PERSON THAT RELEASED THEM. I DO NOT COUNT THEM AS TRADE ITEMS.

IF YOU WISH TO TAKE SOMETHING FROM THIS CACHE PLEASE DON'T LEAVE A TB IN IT'S PLACE. THANK YOU.
