NATIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC DAY
National Country Music Day is celebrated July 4th of each year. The National Country Music Day dates back to the 1950′s when the Country Music Deejay Association commemorated Jimmie Rodgers and country music.
James Charles Rodgers (September 8, 1897 – May 26, 1933), also known as Jimmie Rodgers, was an American country singer in the early 20th century best known for his rhythmic yodeling skills. Rodgers is known as one of the first country music superstars and pioneers. He was also known as The Singing Brakeman, The Blue Yodeler, and The Father of Country Music.
