Gage and DeSoto Traditional Cache

The show Emergency! portrayed John Gage and Roy Desoto as paramedics with Squad 51 at Station 51. When the show premiered in 1972, there were only 12 paramedic units in North America; by 1982, more than half of all Americans were within ten minutes of a paramedic rescue or ambulance unit. Paramedics are better known today as EMT's, Emergency Medical Technicians.

Station 77 opened in 2002 and is staffed 24/7. An engine, medic unit, tender, and aid car operate out of this station. Located on four acres, it is also home to the district's training tower.
